The night is long and so is the stride between tracks that have been found...my personal experience was finding tracks with a 54'' span in between...people who have actually seen this bugger have reported its speed...having said that - I think that a 2 hour distance is a walk in the park for our forest friend. With kind regards, Kelly

Kelly, It's great to have you back!! Mapquest said it's a two hour drive and about 125 miles. Cross country it's probably more like 100 miles. If a human walks at an average of 3-4 miles per hour and it's probably more like 2 mph in rough terrain, imagine how fast BF would get there. Not only do BF have a much longer stride they also have a faster walking speed. Humans would take about 50 hours at 2mph and 34 hours at 3 mph. If BF is going at a rate of lets say 8 mph he'd be there in between 12 and 13 hours. Yep big difference in travel time and your right it's probably just a nice stroll for them. Once again it's great to have you posting again and we look forward to your input!!!! Thanks Michelle

there have been a couple of sightings in jefferson county near sigel pa about 7 miles from where I live. i am sure these bigfoots have been seen in clarion county. I know of one guy that saw a bigfoot in clarion countybut he wont talk about it. several of his neighbors have seen bigfoot also but wont talk either. too bad. most people wont talk cause they are afraid people will just make fun of them.

Being made fun of is a common problem for people reporting any type of unexplained incident. I tried to contact Rich LaMonica from NORKA and haven't heard anything from him. I will try again tonight and hope for a response. Till later. Michelle

Met him at a conference at Salt Fork State Park last year. Haven't really kept in touch. I'll keep trying though. Rich has a nice web page and tries, from what I understand, to get in the field as much as possible.

okay... i live in geauga county, by 422 and all that. i have NEVER in my whole 18 years here heard of a bigfoot sighting. EVER. we've had supposed UFO sightings and abductions (yeah right), but i have seriously never heard of the bigfoot thing. its cool though... there should be more local coverage i would think if all this really happened?? we have little tabloid newspapers but still... nothing.

As usual, I catch this forum late into the discussion... sorry guys, things are hectic. Given the stride and musculature of BF, it is definately reasonable to assume that this animal has greater athletic capability. I don't mean he can beat me in rugby, caus I'd kick his hairy butt (jk), but I just mean BF could probably endure much greater tests of strength and endurance than we can. Now we must look at other species migratory patterns: the wildebeast, the great white shark, the whale... all of these animals easily migrating hundreds to even thousands of miles on a yearly basis. Humans, for instance, are also capable of such mass migrations, pioneers, and ancient hunter/gatherer tribes also covered massive amounts of miles in migrational patterns. Although some assist may have been granted by animal (horse oxen etc.) or "technology" (carriage...wagons...etc..)... not every person had access to these and only so many could fit on the wagons or animals. So long story short, I think it's reasonable to assume that this perhaps topographically challenging hundred mile migration would be an acheivable feat for BF. However, this carries into question several other assumptions: 1) Bigfoot is a migratory animal and not a dweller 2) The BF at one end of the hundred mile radius is not part of the same population as the one sighted at the other end. 3) If BF is truly a migrator, he does not roam randomly in search of resources but truly follows a somewhat of a set migrational pattern. Also, true migration deals with the traveling of an organism or group of organisms from one environment to a relatively more conducive environment. These geographical locations are relatively similar in climate as well as flora and fauna, so a driving force for the migration would need to be determined. Matt - I like to talk a lot...
PS. Im definately the baby on this forum greywolf... at the old age of 21. haha... Also I'm glad to see that people other than me still spell grey instead of gray... =)

i'm sure bigfoot does some migatory patterns but how far would be one to guess. The less the food the more migatory patterns it would have. How fast they travel we dont know but it is much faster than a human can do. I would start by seeing if other counties from here to there have bigfoot sightings. That means checking several different databases like the bfro.net site and the gcbro.com site and see if they come up with something. The gcbro site has one sighting in clarion county but after talking to the guy and seeing how much flack he gave me i give him a 3 out of 10 for his sighting cause of all the flack he gave me. anyways this is a way to start to see if a possible migatory route starts.
